AHNEMAN KIRBY

Our Story

Since 1871, we’ve served our clients proudly with a reputation for reliability.

J.A. Kirby’s surveys, sewer designs, road designs and storm water designs shaped the Village of Port Chester at the end of the 19th century. Many of his maps and designs are in use today, and we are the proud steward of these old records.

Ahneman Associates was a third-generation civil engineering company formed by Edward Ahneman, Sr., who served on many key projects, including the construction of infrastructure for New York City’s water supply.

The two companies merged in 1988 to serve as the on-call engineering firm for a multitude of Tri-State area municipalities and large contractor organizations.

In 2023, Ahneman Kirby was acquired by Fibersmith to expand both companies’ portfolio of services and to take advantage of innovation opportunities.

Though our companies have evolved over the past 150+ years, our reliability and innovation have remained constant, and we look forward to continuing to serve our clients in the years to come.
