Two Columbia Companies Land on National Fastest-Growing List

COLUMBIA, Mo. — August 20, 2026 — Two Columbia companies that help providers expand broadband access have been named to the 2026 Inc. 5000 list, a national ranking of the fastest-growing private companies in the United States.

Fibersmith Software Solutions, which develops software used by internet providers to manage their day-to-day operations, ranked No. 1,094 nationally in its first year on the list. Fibersmith, which designs fiber-optic networks, ranked No. 1,675 — its seventh consecutive appearance.

The Inc. 5000 ranks companies by revenue growth over three years. Fewer than one in ten Inc. honorees ever reach five consecutive appearances, the threshold for what Inc. calls its Honor Roll.

The two companies are sister organizations and often share clients. Between them, they employ more than 100 people, most of them in Columbia and many hired from the University of Missouri and Columbia College.

About Fibersmith

Fibersmith helps internet providers build broadband networks, mostly in rural areas that have gone without reliable service. The company handles the full process — evaluating whether a project is viable, helping providers apply for federal funding, designing the network, verifying designs against actual field conditions, overseeing construction, and maintaining records afterward. Providers can hire Fibersmith for all of it or any single piece. Founded in Columbia, Missouri in 2013. fibersmith.co

About Fibersmith Software Solutions

Fibersmith Software Solutions makes Vision Software, which internet providers use to run their daily operations in one system instead of juggling separate tools for billing, customer records, and field work. Vision organizes everything around the map — every service address is a fixed point, and the full history of that location stays with it no matter who moves in or out.
